Grade 5 competitions are lower level events and usually take place over one day. Whilst they are open to players of all ages and abilities, they are particularly suited to players who are new to competitive tennis as many intermediate and advanced players will often prefer to take part in events with a higher grade in order to earn a greater number of LTA rankings points.

Grade 5 competitions also count for LTA RATINGS purposes.

Applications for all grade 5 competitions are accepted on a first-entered basis, guaranteeing acceptance to those players who apply first.
