TSUK is pleased to confirm that from 1st January 2017 a number of grade 4 and 5 events in our One-Day Event Programme will prioritise adult players if events are oversubscribed.
Until now, selections for all oversubscribed LTA grade 4 and grade 5 competitions have been based on each player's rating (and then ranking) which has favoured many junior players. In "ADULT PRIORITY" events players with a season-age of 19 or older will be selected FIRST with LTA rating and ranking acting as a secondary acceptance criteria.
"Season-age" is a player's age on 31st March or 31st August immediately following the date of the competition.
The pilot series of "ADULT PRIORITY" events will take place on Sundays at Sutton Tennis Academy and if popular may be extended to David Lloyd Hatfield and also to some of our Saturday events. Where events give acceptance priority to adults they will include the words "ADULT PRIORITY" in the event title.
