Grade 2 tournaments are national level competitions intended for players of national and county standard. Grade 2 competitions tend to take place over a period of 5-8 days with several age groups, often including both singles and doubles events. There are very few tournaments in this grade.

Although most grade 2 tournaments will accept applications from players of any standard, tournaments at this level are generally oversubscribed. Selections are made on merit (based on each player's LTA rating and/or ranking depending on age group). so lower rated/ranked applicants may not be offered a place.

The number of points awarded to players winning successive rounds in a grade 2 competition is higher than in a grade 3 event. All matches in grade 2 competitions also count for LTA RATINGS.
